A digital nomad retreat at Esc is a hosted, fixed-date programme: a leader, daily workshops and labs, a group that starts and finishes together, and a clear result at the end. You stay in the village, eat on site and work from our coworking space in Popoyo, but the days are built around the programme.
Already work remotely and just want a productive stay on the coast? That’s our all-inclusive coworking packages, not a retreat.

Popoyo, on Nicaragua’s Emerald Coast
Esc – Digital Nomad Village sits on Astillero Road, 1.5 km west of Puente Nahualapa, in Guasacate, Popoyo. Green hills, a small surf town, fibre internet with a backup generator and four private call rooms, and the beach a free shuttle ride away. Nicaragua runs on Central Standard Time all year, so US-based teams stay within a few hours of your day.
Meals are cooked on site, and El Tigre, our Asian-inspired restaurant, is part of the village. Surf lessons, spots and levels are covered by Nicaragua Surf Camp.

What is a digital nomad retreat?
A fixed-date programme with a leader and a group, where the days are built around workshops and hands-on work rather than around your own job. At Esc, you stay in the village, eat on site and use the coworking space, and the retreat sets the rhythm of the week.
How is a retreat different from a coworking package at Esc?
A coworking package is for people who already work remotely: you bring your job and your hours, and we handle room, meals, transport and workspace. A retreat is a guided programme with a leader and a group, for people who want to learn or build something specific. If you’re not sure which fits, call reception and describe your situation.
Do I need to quit my job to join a retreat?
No, and we’d rather you didn’t. The whole programme is built around keeping your current income while you test and build a new one on the side. The rule is simple: don’t leave your job until the new income has beaten your Freedom Number for three months in a row.
When do the retreats run, and what do they cost?
The 7-Day Retreat runs 15 to 22 November 2026 (pilot, 5 places), 29 November to 6 December 2026, 17 to 24 January 2027 and 14 to 21 February 2027 (10 places each). The 4-Week Bootcamp runs 17 January to 14 February and 14 February to 14 March 2027. Every retreat starts on a Sunday. Can I stay on after the 7 days?
Yes, on the January and February dates: the 4-Week Bootcamp keeps you in the village for three more weeks to build your chosen path, with a one-hour session with your teacher each week, the coworking space every day and a Friday review. Tell reception when you book so we hold your room for the full four weeks.
